RM of Estevan’s story
The Rural Municipality of Estevan No. 5 was incorporated as a rural municipality on December 12, 1910. It lies in the southeast corner of Saskatchewan, right up against the American border, where its neighbours across the line are Divide County and Burke County in North Dakota.
The RM wraps around the City of Estevan and also surrounds the Village of Hitchcock. Its municipal office is located in the city. Council meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, with an appointed administrator helping run things.
For outdoor recreation, Woodlawn Regional Park lies within the municipality.
